Attendees
We are glad you asked!
NordicFuzzCon is an annual event taking place in Sweden. It is aimed at members of the international furry community – people with an interest in animals with human characteristics, such as Bugs Bunny or Donald Duck – but all are welcome to attend.
At the convention, we offer many different activities, including dances with live DJ sets, panels on art and costume-wearing, organised tabletop and video gaming, and much more! While we can't guarantee you a good time, we do our utmost to offer the most scrumptious smörgåsbord of entertainment this side of the fjord.
NordicFuzzCon made its début in 2013 where the event had over 170 attendees from over 10 different countries. In 2024, there were over 3,704 attendees from over 51 different countries, making NordicFuzzCon the largest international furry convention in Scandinavia and the third largest in Europe. We also raised 323,452 SEK for the UAnimals charity.

Available to us again this year is also Valhalla. A historic venue located close to the Comfort Hotel, Valhalla provides us with more room for events, live performances and friendly lounging!
Furries are fans of anthropomorphic animals. An anthropomorphic animal is an animal with human-like characteristics. This includes many classic cartoon and comic book characters, such as Donald Duck, the Moomin, and Sweden's very own Bamse. Anthropomorphic animals are a part of our everyday lives, and they have been a part of human culture for thousands of years from the Egyptian god Anubis to werewolves in folklore.
Most furries have a personal species. This is a species they identify with, and which they will use as an avatar online and in the real world. Some choose more fantastical creatures as their personal avatars, including dragons and unicorns, or even impossible cross-breeds such as folfs (fox combined with wolf). These become personal characters, often with some added distinguishing characteristics like clothing accessories or colourful fur patterns, and they are usually referred to as their fursona.
It is common for furries to get artwork made of their fursonas, and some even get complete costumes made based on these anthropomorphic avatars. These animal costumes are commonly referred to as fursuits.
Over the last decades, furry has become its own thriving international fandom. Every year, there are dozens of furry conventions all over the world. At these conventions, furries meet to create and sell art, dress up and cosplay as their fursonas, dance, and generally have a good time. Often, conventions will collect and donate money to animal-related charities as well.
Mausie and Iris
Mausie and Iris here! We are cousins, and we are rauses. A raus is a rat-mouse hybrid.
While we are both mascots of NordicFuzzCon, Mausie was the first to join. Initially, he mostly stuck to the background, either showing up in conbooks or sneaking around in the form of a plushie. However, in 2012 he decided to start helping around as a full-fledged oversized raus and fellow member of the NordicFuzzCon STEW (STaff and crEW). In 2014, a large inflated version of him started showing up as well. This Mausie is mostly stationary, hanging around with a dedicated fan. The same year, Mausie also got to star in his very own music video, Cheese Party. In 2019, Iris decided to make it a family trade and joined in on the fun.
We can both be found meeting attendees, attending events, and being a general nuisance around the NordicFuzzCon STEW. Sometimes you may also find Mausie attending other conventions, but Iris is a bit more shy.
If you want to contact either of us you can visit us on X, contact us through Telegram, or send us an e-mail.
We also have our own reference sheets:
There are many words for it: ‘atmosphere’, ‘the feeling of belonging’ or simply ‘magic’. But they all refer to the same thing: why an event matters to us. It’s the sort of atmosphere only a furry convention can provide, and that is created by all of you!
NordicFuzzCon 2024 gathered more than 3,700 people from over 51 different countries around the world. Every single one of them brought their own unique blend of culture, perspective, and experiences in life. Anyone can enter the stage, and the outcome is a wide assortment of events that range from humble presentations, to beautiful performances that take ages to finalise. The result is a vibrant community of actors, artisans, musicians, artists, and storytellers that have stumbled upon something truly unique: How to be fans of one another.
NordicFuzzCon 2025 will strive to be more fantastic, more embracing and more full of wonder than ever before! There will be dancing bears and singing foxes, there will be food, friends, fun and endless hugs. The question is – what will you bring?
Dip your toes if you are cautious, or fully immerse yourself if you are willing – let the atmosphere take you where you want to be.
NordicFuzzCon (NFC) is an annual furry fandom convention held in Malmö, Sweden. It is a colourful celebration of costumes, games, artistic expression, and togetherness. All revolve around a shared interest in anthropomorphic animals (animals with human-like characteristics, think about Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, Pelle Svanslös), which is what defines the furry fandom. This is also exemplified through the convention’s two beloved iconic rodent mascot characters: Mausie and Iris.
For many members of the furry fandom, furry conventions are a pivotal part of the fandom, making attendance an important event. Many fandom members have friends from all around the world that they know online, and conventions are a rare opportunity to meet person to person. It’s also a way to make new friends who share the same interest in anthropomorphic animals
The first NFC took place in 2013 in Stockholm with a total of 172 attendees, and the convention has grown with every iteration. NFC is currently Scandinavia’s largest furry convention and Europe’s second largest, with more than 3,700 registered attendees from 43 different countries in 2024.
NFC is a non-profit event run by enthusiastic volunteers, and every year the convention has a chosen animal welfare charity the attendees raise money for during the event. Since 2013, NFC has raised over 1,130,000 SEK for benefactors such as Svenska Djurambulansen, Fågelcentralen and UAnimals.
Every year, NFC has an open house day where anyone is free to attend the convention during the daytime. This is also when the Fursuit Parade event takes place, one of the convention’s highlights, where attendees who have a fursuit (i.e. an animal-character costume) will walk in a procession to show them off to the public.
The open house date and time will be announced closer to the convention!
